In our ongoing effort to help reduce the impact of paper and plastic waste to the environment Cheque-Mates are now offering our clients a Degradable plastic option for use on the Sitma plastic wrap line.

Traditional plastic products have a significant effect on the environment in two main areas:

• As litter which is not only visibly unsightly but also a threat to our animal and marine life.
• As solid waste in land fills.

The “Earth Wrap” that Cheque-Mates have developed with their plastic partner, has a breakdown period of three to six months, as opposed to other products on the market that take an average eighteen months to breakdown.

We have tested this product on recent catalogue & periodical mailouts with great success. The Degradable plastic is produced by including a chemical additive to the standard manufacture of plastic products so that once it has fulfilled its shelf and service life it will begin to react to oxygen, sunlight, elevated temperatures and or mechanical stress to create a non toxic end product.
